The Intermediate Sanction Facility became operational July 1, 1994. The ISF accepted its first resident on August 18, 1994. The ISF employs 28 employees. The Intermediate Sanction Facility employees are also employees of the 33rd/424th Judicial District CSCD.
The ISF's mission is to provide an intensive, structured, residential setting that teaches personal work ethic. The Facility attempts to do this by mandating the performance of Community Service Restitution/Work Detail. The facility targets offenders whose dysfunctional lifestyle has been assessed as being due to the lack of adequate education and life skills, failure to maintain employment, chemical abuse problems, and/or are at risk of revocation The ISF provides the Court system with a viable means of managing the needs of salvageable offenders within the guidelines which confront to reasonable public safety.
The ISF is a 54-bed facility, which houses residents from a minimum six months to twenty-four months. The Facility has the capability of supervising 54 male residents at any given time. The SIF will attempt to serve 250 offenders annually.
